Townhouse Grounds Reimagined,
Hampstead

"SONYA! This is sooo nice. Just as we like it. You are really good!

Thank you for keeping the garden so nice!" FW

The brief here was to infuse a "too-white" front garden with colour to suit the new owner's taste.  The emphasis was on an "organic" look and feel.

What began as a Hydrangea and Astrantia- heavy grounds (creamy and dreamy but a bit bland!) became a loose and lively tapestry of colour.

Long-flowering genus such as Persicaria, Salvia and Lonicera (Honeysuckle) were selected to carry the rich hues through many months.

Foliage selections included near-black Aster 'Glow In The Dark' and burgundy-plum of Persicaria mic. 'Red Dragon' to further enhance the tapestry-effect, pulling their weight even outside of their flowering season.

We continue to tend this garden with regular visits.  It's always really nice to look after a garden you have designed and implemented then watch it bed in, bush out and blossom!
